To Project Encouragement,
I want to thank you for a job well done for allowing my children Taneika and DeShae, the opportunity to gain the knowledge, experience and friendship from everyone in the group. When I came to sit in on the meetings, I felt welcomed and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. When my children was working with the women in Project Encouragement, I often relied on Cynthia to assist me put together a creative way to present different avenues for my girls, for which she described and outlined the artistic approach to the project, what she could see from the girls different personalities, researching ideas, her own experience and other reference materials. Her creativity, resourcefulness, and ability to make sure all the young ladies have and get the best out of their teenage years; she was determined to see it through really made things easier for me to be distinctive and successful with my approach with them.
As we went forward over the years Cynthia, would let me know of the positive changes and maturity. She was able to observe every step of the progress, sitting in on meetings and working with people in all areas of they encountered and involvement with their peers. This is a plus, because as we all know children will come to a time where they need to hear the same thing from other adults. Even if it’s said the same way or a different way, since teenagers will block you out from time to time. I was glad that all the women could share their stories and experience with the girls and help groom them with me and the other parents. I am a true believer in it take a village and Project Encouragement was my village at school for my children.
During this time, Cynthia was an effective communicator, often serving as my liaison to personal issues. She also coordinated projects involving numerous people, and her ability to work collaboratively while guiding the project quickly and effectively was outstanding. She helped the girls to organize events effectively and worked with them, to coordinate and create several drafts to make sure the event worked, and then communicated with crew members from all departments, making sure everyone was up-to-date on the event the girls wanted to have at the school. She even jumped in to draw a few last-minute gifts to present to the mothers.
Cynthia’s sensitivity, diligence, energy and sense of humor made working with her a joy. I highly recommend her as a welcome addition to any school or organization. Job WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
